| The
LaPorte Plant was established in 1985. It is equipped
with a Ross Explorer 12 cubic yard batch size with
4 separate aggregate bins with 200 ton capacity
in plant storage, 2 cement silos with 600 barrel
capacity each, and 1 cement silo with 150 barrel
capacity. Aggregate is stored in 6 heated inground
bins with a holding capacity of 250 tons each, plus
additional above ground storage for up to 1,000
tons. Therre are two water tanks with 6,000 gallons
total capacity and the water is heated by a boiler
heating system. Aggregates are loaded into the plant
by a fully automated computer controlled system
inside the batch control area completely remote
from the storage area. Admixtures include an air
entraining agent, two water reducers, two high range
water reducers, a non chloride accelerating admixture
and a calcium chloride accelerator. The batching
computer is by Auto Control Model 80-40. |
